The project area “Park of the Hall of the 100th Anniversary of K.S. Cracovia together with the Center of Sports for the Disabled” is located in Krakow at F.Focha Avenue and is adjacent to the recreational space of the Krakowskie Blonia. The site is also located in the zone of protection of the scenic silhouette of the city and St. Bronislawa Hill, as well as in the area of green systems and river parks.

CONNECTION AND FORM

The project area had to be assigned to the public areas of the city of Krakow. This is due to its open character of development and public accessibility from both the Rudawa River and Al. Focha and the Blonia Krakowskie area.

The natural elevation of Salwator and the historic lowering of the Blonia River differ in terms of terrain modeling from the artificially formed valley of the Rudawa River and the study area.

Confirmed by the result of the competition, the formal “occupation” of the area with which we are dealing with the impact of the architectural mass is consistently developed throughout the “exterior” area of the Hall by means of landscape architecture elements. The guiding idea of the new ARTIFICIAL TOPOGRAPHIC FORM of the exalted geometric earth blocks defines the consistent treatment of the entire Park area.

The created spatial interiors relate to the scale of the building and relate to the existing widths in the landscape and preserve the view connections to Wawel Hill, St. Bronislawa Hill and Kosciuszko Mound. The landscape windows are reinforced by frames formed to emphasize them, created by:
– base – terrain modeling (slopes),
– sides – hedges,
– accents – solitary plantings

The principle guiding the location and selection of plants on the site was the need to preserve view connections.
The green roof of the building will be covered with species of rock perennials and grasses with a total area of about 2200 m².
