The City Garden at the New Theater consists of two parts: the backdrop-like green strip of St. Stephen’s Street and the flying carpet of the City Garden. For the backdrop-like function of the green strip, an existing row of trees to the west of the theater is supplemented with additional trees. The “flying carpet” extends as a green carpet of lawns, ground covers and low shrubs across levels 0, +1 and +2. The theme of the carpet is derived from the architectural form of the building. The bands of plants stretching across the entire width emphasize the undulations of the carpet rising from the street level to 10m. On the west side of the building, a large terrace covered with an avenue completes the garden. In its central axis runs a watercourse with fountains. At the peak of the building, a terrace offers a view over the city garden and parts of the surrounding city.
