Past and future — distinctiveness of the locations — lasting values

The identity of the neighbourhood around the Bockenheimer Warte is shaped by its characteristic buildings. The urban development concept envisages that the ‘historical solitaires’ will be woven into the urban context through individual treatment appropriate to the building with a superordinate grammar based on Frankfurt’s perimeter block development. The result is a sequence of different spatial constellations characterised by the interplay of space-defining development with solitary buildings crystallised by open spaces.
