A garden is something of its own, a demarcated piece of land that offers protection and retreat and yet at the same time allows personal development outdoors. A piece of land means “ordered nature”, this is the unchanging, external basis.
The inner nature is differentiated and changeable, not only with the seasons. It can reflect the image of man from, his relationship to nature. Memories of childhood are awakened or kept alive. The garden is a picture of the here and now or gives a view into a future world of wishes.
