The muni­ci­pal housing com­pa­ny WBM Woh­nungs­bau­ge­sell­schaft Ber­lin-Mit­te plans the turn­key con­s­truc­tion of two resi­den­ti­al buil­dings with 86 resi­den­ti­al units inclu­ding base­ment, are­as for com­mer­cial units on the ground flo­or, as well as the out­door faci­li­ties at Ber­nau­er Stra­ße 26 / 34 in Ber­lin-Mit­te. The pro­per­ties are loca­ted in the area of the for­mer Wall strip and thus in the midd­le of the part­ly alre­a­dy built memo­ri­al land­scape along Ber­nau­er Stra­ße to com­me­mo­ra­te the Ber­lin Wall. The design emer­ges from the pre­cise spe­ci­fi­ca­ti­ons of the deve­lo­p­ment plan and was deve­lo­ped in land­scape archi­tec­tu­re and archi­tec­tu­re from the design sta­tu­tes that app­ly in the lis­ted area of Ber­nau­er Strasse. Due to the loca­ti­on, evi­dence of the bor­der for­ti­fi­ca­ti­ons is to be expec­ted during the ground inter­ven­ti­ons, such as remains of the escape tun­nels from the time of the divi­ded Ber­lin.
